Tax Information

The Town of Kennebunk's fiscal year runs from July 1st to June 30th.

Tax bills are assessed to the owner of the property as of April 1st. Tax payments are due semi-annually. 

  • The first installment is mailed in September and is due on the first Friday in October. 
  • The second installment is mailed in March and is due on the first Friday in April. Please call the Tax Collector's Office for the most current payment information (207) 985-2102 x 1606.    
  • Interest accrues immediately after the due dates. The interest rate is determined at Town Meeting.
  • Tax bills are mailed to the taxpayers only. For taxpayers that have taxes in escrow, it is their responsibility to forward this information to their mortgage company. Taxpayers should retain a photocopy for their records.
  • NEW! You may now pay your Personal Property Tax/Real Estate Tax Bill online. The Town of Kennebunk has partnered with the State of Maine and Maine PayPort Online to offer this third party service. Fees apply for any payments made using this service. Before getting started you will need the following: 
          • Account number
          • Property address, including zip code
          • Payment Amount; If you making a payment after the due date, call the Tax Collector's Office for the most current payment amount (207) 985-2102 x 1606                   
          • Make a payment online now!  A $1.00 fee will be charged for payments totaling $40.00 or less, and a 2.5% fee will be charged for payments over $40.00. Paying by credit card through Maine PayPort Online is voluntary and the final cost may be higher than using other forms of payment.
