Processing Availability
The Tax Collector's Office processes passport applications Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 11 am.

Adult passports are $135 and children under the age of 16 are $105 per passport.

Please note that two separate forms of payment are required; one check or money order must be made out to the U.S. Department of State for the appropriate fee ($110 for adults and $80 for children under 16 per passport application). A second fee will be paid to the Town of Kennebunk and can be cash, check or credit card (fees apply) for $25 per passport application.

Processing Time

Passports take approximately 4-6 weeks to process and will be delivered to customers, so plan ahead for that upcoming trip. A $60 expedite fee may be paid for a delivery time of 2-3 weeks when time is limited.

Children Under 16
Any child under the age of 16 applying for a passport must appear in front of the agent with both parents. Some exceptions apply, so contact the Tax Collector's office at (207) 985-2102 ext. 1606 for more details.

All passport applications must be completed in black or dark blue ink only, and must not have any scribbles, errors or white out on them. One line through an error is the only acceptable correction allowed.

Bundle Pricing
Passport cards are now available for an additional fee of $30 for adults and $15 for children under the age of 16, if purchased at the same time as a passport book. If purchased separately, the $25 agent fee does apply. Please note that passport cards may only be used for land or sea travel to Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean, but is a good second form of photo identification.
