Kennebunk Free Library
About the Library
The Kennebunk Free Library is an integral part of the lives of all of us who enjoy life in the Kennebunks. It is as important as our churches, our ancestral homes, our rivers, our fishing boats, our ketches and sloops. In 2007 we celebrated 100 years of sharing books in the handsome brick building on the corner of Main and Fletcher Streets. But there is a long history of personal inspiration and dedication that culminated in the construction of that building in 1907 and over 100 years of growth in community participation, reading material, variety of resources, technology, and architectural space. There is a great deal to celebrate in the Kennebunk Free Library.

KFL is staffed by eight full time and six part-time employees and is open 51 hours a week. The Library offers an extensive collection of books, large print books, periodicals, DVDs, music CDs, audio-books, downloadable audio and e-books, e-readers, reference materials, a Maine Collection, and free interlibrary loan borrowing service. A variety of programs are offered for children, teens, and adults as well as museum passes to the Portland Museum of Art, The Portland Observatory, Strawberry Banke, State Parks and reduced admission to the Children’s Museum of Maine and the Seashore Trolley Museum.

Additional Library services include: 10 public Internet stations, free wifi access, and full text and abstracts from magazines, newspapers, and books through MARVEL! databases. For a small fee, KFL also offers Hot Spot printing and printing from computer stations and wireless devices, document scanning, an outgoing fax service, and a photocopier.
