Winterfest
- Generally held the first Saturday in February in and around downtown Kennebunk.Winter carnival activities, skating party with DJ, snow sculptures, soup tasting contest, and talent show. Hosted by the Festival Committee.

Valentine’s Family Ice Skate Dance-
Skaters and spectators are encouraged to dress in red, free ice skating, DJ taking requests, prizes and awards, plus a sweetheart's dance! Sponsored by the Kennebunk Downtown Committee and Waterhouse Center.


MARCH

Easter Egg Hunt - (could be held in April, depending on Easter date) Generally the Saturday before Easter, held at the Kennebunk Elementary School. The event is for ages 2-8 and starts promptly at 10:00 am. (recommended to arrive 15 minutes early). Hop on over to this fun filled event. After egg hunt, enjoy some great family entertainment. FREE event will take place regardless of weather. Sponsored by the Recreation Department.

MAY
maydaylogocolor (3).jpgMay Day Festival - First Saturday in May - this fun day promises to be a full-day of family-friendly fun activities throughout downtown Kennebunk. Pancake breakfast, may pole dancing and basket making, crafters, food vendors, parade, opening day for the Farmers' Market and Little League, and much more! Look for our maps on Main Street to plot your course and join us for some or all the excitement that day! Hosted by the Festival Committee.

Memorial Day Observances
- on the Monday observing Memorial Day - Numerous events: 7:00 am (salute to deceased Veterans at local cemeteries), 1:30 pm (band concert at Town Hall, Main St.); 1:45 pm (formation of parade at Town Hall, Main St.).  on July 4 at dusk - Gooch’s Beach on Beach Avenue

Summer Fest - For 2016: Week-long activities held during Old Home Week will be consolidated into one day of fun on July 2nd under this event's new name "Summer Fest". Basically the same concept as Old Home Week but celebrated in one day! The Town of Kennebunk, Maine, celebrates its past, present, and future during Home Town Celebration. The community has revitalized a century old tradition with family events including a craft fair, farmers' market, family traditions parade, musical performances, local history displays, sporting events, carnival games, petting zoo, church pie contest, Rotary Club’s chicken barbecue, antique auto show, sidewalk art show, and so much more!  Hosted by the Festival Committee.

Children’s Halloween Party - 
Generally the Saturday before Halloween at Sea Road School gym. The Recreation Department schedules two age-appropriate parties for pre-schoolers and grade K (from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm) and grades 1-5 (from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm). Parental supervision is mandatory. FREE event includes a magic show, over 12 new and returning carnival games, moon bounce, refreshments and lots of prizes and candy. Stop by to see what we have in store for all the little ghosts and goblins of Kennebunk! No registration is required. Sponsored by the Recreation Department

Teen Spook Night and Grand Reopening of the Teen Center 
- held before Halloween (check with Recreation Department for exact date), Kennebunk Teen Center. This annual event includes prizes, costume contest, food, music, games and candy. FREE event for grades 6 - 12. The Teen Center is equipped with pool tables, ping pong tables, multiple TVs, X-Box, dome hockey, Playstation 2 & 3, Wii, arcades games, computers, internet access, juke box, snacks and soda machines. Downtown Tree Lighting - First Saturday after Thanksgiving at 5:30 p.m. at the Plaza on Main Street. Caroling, entertainment, refreshments and Santa! Many businesses are open for your holiday shopping. Hosted by the Downtown Committee. 

Lower Village Tree Lighting - First Saturday in December at 5:30 pm at the corner of Christensen Lane and Route 35 for the Tree Lighting & Christmas Stroll at Lower Village. Join us for carols by the Kennebunk High School Chamber Choir. Following the lighting, enjoy the traditional stroll to the Franciscan Monastery. 

West Kennebunk Tree Lighting 
- First Saturday in December at 6:00 pm at the Dorothy Stevens Community Center, 80 Thompson Road. Caroling, entertainment, refreshments and Santa! Hosted by the West Kennebunk Village Committee.

logo for XMAS Prelude.JPGChristmas Prelude - A winter event where business people have worked with the community to recreate the spirit and joy of the Christmas season in Kennebunk's Lower Village, Kennebunkport & Cape Porpoise. Events include three tree-lighting ceremonies – Dock Square in Kennebunkport, Lower Village of Kennebunk and the lobster trap tree in Cape Porpoise; about a dozen Art and Craft Fairs; approximately 12 venues serving either breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner; and 12 programs of music celebrating the season. Santa still arrives by lobster boat escorted by two very special “lobster elves”. Prelude generally runs for 10 days in early December (please check dates and times of events on their website.)
