The Kennebunk Parks and Recreation Department strives to create community through people, parks and programs by giving those who are pre-school age through senior citizens the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities. Some of the benefits offered through our department include; the teaching of vital life skills, building family unity, providing safe places to play, building self-esteem, creating memories and providing space to enjoy nature and increase community pride. It is this person-to-person contact that relieves the loneliness of senior citizens, reduces the stress and isolation of working adults and inspires and teaches youth to become productive community members.

The Department has six full-time employees and up to 100 part-time and seasonal employees as well as cooperative efforts with many volunteer groups, civic organizations and local businesses. These resources contribute to both the quality and quantity of programs and facilities available to the townspeople. By taking a customer-driven, outcome oriented and collaborative approach, the Department will continue to play a critical role in maintaining and improving the quality of life for our residents.
