Dane Street Rehabilitation Project - 2017.03 - May 24, 2019 Update

Posted on May 24, 2019 at 4:33 PM by Christopher Osterrieder

Construction of the Dane Street Rehabilitation Project has been underway since early May.  N.M. Curtis Earthworks, Inc. of Berwick, Maine has been focusing on the utility work component of the project since the inception.  The first area of focus is on the replacement of the sanitary sewer system and the work to date has been related to the sewer main replacement.  Approximately 500 linear feet has been installed and this work is anticipated to be completed in early June.  Once the sewer system replacement work is complete, the emphasis will shift to the installation of the new drainage system and then the construction of the road, curbing and then sidewalks.

Access has been and will continue to be limited to LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY during construction.  Motorists should expect frequent delays and seek alternate routes.  On-street parking during construction is prohibited and there will be dedicated on-street parking areas upon completion of the project.

Steps are in place to manage the active work zone and maintain adjacent residential and recreational activities.  This is a short term inconvenience and the Town of Kennebunk appreciates the cooperation of all entities affected by this work.  Weather conditions have created challenges with work production, but the continued efforts of the contractor have the project remaining on schedule.
