Now Accepting Applications for Interim KLPD Trustee

Kennebunk Light and Power District

Kennebunk Light & Power District is seeking applications to fulfill an Interim Trustee seat recently vacated due to the relocation of a trustee.

KLPD Trustee Jonathan Kilbourn recently relocated outside of KLPD territory. Chapter 53, Section 1, of the Private and Special Laws of the State of Maine, passed by the 95th State Legislature in 1951, created a ‘body politic’ under the name of the “Kennebunk Light and Power District," a quasi-municipal entity separate from the Town. Section 11 of this Act addresses vacancies in office and delegates the authority to appoint to the "municipal officers of said town."

Trustee Kilbourn’s term was set to expire in 2023. The Interim Trustee will be appointed until the next Annual Town Meeting in June of 2020, when voters will elect a Trustee to fill the remainder of that term (through 2023).

Interested parties are asked to submit a letter of interest to Town Manager Michael Pardue via email, or mail to 1 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME 04043.

Submissions must be received by Thursday, December 12, 2019.  The Select Board of the Town of Kennebunk will consider applications and appoint the Interim Trustee at their meeting on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.
