Kennebunk will celebrate its Bicentennial on June 26, 2021 (rescheduled from June 27, 2020), with special events planned. The celebrations will include a block party, live music, reenactor's encampment and much more.
The Town will be celebrating its Bicentennial this year in a few different ways, but the main celebration will take place downtown on Saturday, June 26, 2021. This celebration was originally scheduled for June 27, 2020, but was moved to June 2021 to minimize the risk of exposure of COVID-19. See the Schedule of Events (PDF) listing each date and the activities planned.
During the day, events will include a children’s wagon parade, art show, display of the Bicentennial Quilt, a reenactor’s encampment, bouncy castle and more. Additionally, there will be a community block party with boxed dinners, live music and more in the evening. As a result, there will be some road closures in the downtown area throughout the day and lasting into the evening.
Souvenir mugs, hats and glasses are currently for sale in the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall. A special Bicentennial coin is also being created.
We will be seeking volunteers for all events. Volunteers will be the only ones to receive Bicentennial commemorative T-shirts, so consider signing up! We’ll be posting more on this soon.
