COVID-19 Information, Resources and Town updates

The Town of Kennebunk continues to respond to Federal and State recommendations related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following information has been updated as of May 1.

Kennebunk, ME
  • Town Manager's Public Service Announcements - View public service announcements from Town Manager Michael Pardue.  These PSAs are posted on the homepage of our website as well as on the Town's Facebook page.
  • Governor Mills presents Plan for Restarting Maine's Economy - On Tuesday, April 28th, Governor Janet Mills presented her Administration's plan to gradually and safely restart Maine's economy. The plan establishes four gradual stages of reopening, the first which begins today, May 1st. View the Governor's Plan for Restarting Maine's Economy.
  • "Virtual" May Day Pancake Breakfast - Saturday, May 2 from 8-10 a.m. at Duffy's Tavern & Grill - Every year, the Town comes together to celebrate May Day with a festival planned and organized by a very small group of dedicated volunteers and town employees. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival has been cancelled. However, Duffy's Tavern & Grill - Kennebunk is hosting their annual Pancake Breakfast- in a new way (virtually, with to go orders!) to support people in need in Kennebunk through the Town's General Assistance/Social Services office.
Buttermilk pancakes, syrup, butter and bacon.  $7.00 - all proceeds benefit Kennebunk General Assistance.  Order at Duffysmaine.com.

We hope you will support their efforts and if you or someone you know is in need during this time, please contact us at (207) 604-1342 or ga@kennebunkmaine.us.
  • Community Reengagement Task Force - On Monday, April 27th, the Town of Kennebunk's Community Reengagement Task Force held their initial kick-off meeting. This task force plans to meet weekly, or more frequently if needed, as they advance their efforts to strategically assess and implement appropriate steps to pragmatically reengage the community of Kennebunk in response to the anticipated regression of the Coronavirus. Much more information regarding the work of this task force will be forthcoming.
  • Bicentennial Celebration Postponed until June 2021 - With the Governor's prohibition on gatherings of more than 50 people in July and August, the Bicentennial Celebration, which was originally scheduled for this June, has been postponed until June of 2021. "It gives us one more year to plan the best event ever!" said Kathy Ostrander Roberts, Chair of the Bicentennial Committee.
  • COS - Community Outreach Services' food pantry operations have expanded to address an increased need in our community. There are no qualifications to receive assistance from the pantry and there are two ways to access this resource:
During the week, residents can request an order of non-perishable food by contacting the Social Services office. Orders can be picked up at the satellite food pantry location, Vinegar Hill Music Theater, or delivery options are available. Call (207) 604-1390 by 11:30 a.m. daily, to hear the procedure and leave contact information.

Twice weekly a fresh foods pantry is offered. No phone requests are necessary to participate: simply show up at Vinegar Hill Music Theater on Tuesdays from 4-7 p.m., or Fridays from 9-11 a.m. If delivery is needed, please contact the Social Services office to make arrangements by leaving a message at (207) 604-1390.

For ALL changes and closings related to COVID-19, please visit our website to stay informed. We will continue to post updates to town government operations as we have them.
