Update Regarding Town Operations, Beach and Parks Access

Beginning Friday, May 15, access to beaches and parks will resume. The following will be in effect:

• Beach Avenue, the sidewalks along Beach Avenue and Gooch's, Middle and Mother's beach will be open for "active use" beginning Friday, May 15. Active uses include such activities as driving, walking, running, swimming and surfing. Fitness classes will NOT be allowed on the beaches. All beach users must follow social distancing guidelines and remain 6' apart, and users must wear a facial covering (mask, face shield) if that physical distance cannot be maintained. Gathering in groups, loitering and playing games that violate social distancing guidelines are not permitted. Parson's Beach remains CLOSED at this time. 
• As of May 15, dogs are permitted on the beaches, but MUST be on a leash at all times.  "Voice control" is not permitted. 
• Beach parking stickers will not be available for purchase until after May 31. 
• Parks with green spaces will be open for active use beginning Friday, May 15. All park users must follow social distancing guidelines and remain 6' apart, and users must wear a facial covering (mask, face shield) if that physical distance cannot be maintained. Gathering in groups, loitering and playing games that violate social distancing guidelines are not permitted. Nets, hoops, playgrounds and the skatepark remain CLOSED as we continue to evaluate the safety of these activities and the ability to properly sanitize and disinfect areas and surfaces per guidance from health officials and experts. 

Town offices, including Public Safety and Public Services facilities, remain closed until Wednesday, May 20. At this time, a phased reopening plan will be implemented. Safety measures include:

• A public entrance through the Town Hall auditorium (the entrance between the columns at the very front of the building) will be utilized beginning Wednesday, May 20. Those individuals requiring use of the elevator will enter through the side entrance, as usual. 
• Updated hours of operation, effective Wednesday, May 20 will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with all offices closing from 12-1 for lunch and an opportunity to sanitize and disinfect workstations and public access areas.
