"Slow Down Kennebunk" is a community approach to speeding prevention in Kennebunk. The goal of the campaign is to create awareness of the issue, educate the public on the dangers and implications of speeding, and gain voluntary compliance in driving the posted speed limits. The campaign comes in response to an uptick in speeding in the Town of Kennebunk and concern from Town residents. The campaign emphasizes voluntary compliance.
"Slow Down Kennebunk" yard signs are available for pick up at the Town Clerk’s office Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm and the Kennebunk Police Department Monday-Friday 8am-4pm while supplies last. Residents who experience speeding in their neighborhoods are encouraged to place a sign on their residential property to help create awareness about the issue.
