Waterhouse Center Advisory Committee

The Waterhouse Center Advisory Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors of the Waterhouse Youth Endowment Fund for distributions and grants to be made from that fund in support of programs and events to be held at the Waterhouse Center. If you have suggestions for an activity, please contact us.

Waterhouse Youth Endowment

In 2013, a long-time Kennebunk resident and her granddaughter donated $1.5 million to create an endowment (in perpetuity) to the Town of Kennebunk to foster and enhance the health and well-being of local youth by providing recreational and educational opportunities in a safe and healthy environment in downtown Kennebunk.

In conjunction with the endowment, and with the generous donations and support from local residents and businesses, the Town built a unique four season open family pavilion located at 51 Main Street. The pavilion has been named the “Waterhouse Center," after the donors, the Waterhouse family.

Proceeds from the endowment will be used for the maintenance of the ice skating rink, provide free ice skating for the community’s youth, and a wide variety of year-long activities for youth and their families. Multi-generational programming includes educational, athletic, team-building, cultural and civic-oriented activities.
Meetings
The Waterhouse Center Advisory Committee meets on an as needed basis. All meetings are posted in Town Hall and on the Meeting Calendar.
